Four Oaks Restaurant and Lounge in Soutd Boston

Straight out of the 80s, including decor, music, and menu. There was a terribly musty odor all throughout the restaurant which may be down to the carpet which desperately needs to be replaced. I waited a long time after I was finished to receive the check; the manager walked past me multiple times and never acknowledged I was waiting or offered to cash me out. The food was decent and the service staff were very good but I wouldn't return unless I had no other dining options.

Heard this place was good and my experience was most likely a rare occasion but it still happened. Went saturday night for dinner with the family. We had 6:15 reservations and showed up a little early. They sat us and the waitress showed up for our drink order. It then took 10 mins for her to finally take our food order. After placing our food order it took an hour and fifteen minutes to receive our food. The steaks were dry and not juicy. A lot of the food was cold. Had to keep asking for drink refills. Unsure if they were short staffed or not but I had a terrible experience and most likely will not go back.

Food was awesome, service was a little slow for not being crowded, but worth the wait. Had a great conversation with the vice Mayor, while eatting . The area has lots of colonial history. South Boston is worth a stop and vist and so is this 5 star restaurant

Wow...I have never appetizers made BY HAND before, and if I have: the quality wasn't good enough to notice. Four Oaks had super sweet young men and women on the wait staff, serving up some of the finest hand-made food I've had, and the prices proved to be so good that I'd make it my regular spot if it was closer to home. 10/10 for everything, including the wicked salad bar, with (my favorites) homemade broccoli salad AND potato salad.Please take your business here, and leave happy, full and excited to try another entree next time. Don't forget to tip! Our waitress was awesome and fast. She didn't involve herself in the table beyond a welcomed amount, and was like a ninja when sniping drink cups for frequent refills.

Wonderful birthday dinner and had the cutest and best waitress ever. Ann Nicole you were awesome.

Good atmosphere was visiting in my home town .Salad bar was great ,bake potato good.Ribs wasn't very good. Took a long time to be served. Would go back

I went to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday with a special friend. The food the salad bar the appetizers were delicious! And let me not forget the desert! Even though we did not receive our food quickly when we did receive it it was well worth the wait! I definitely will be going back!

It's a decent place to eat. Average food. Service was average. Nothing to make me return though.

The restaurant was full at 5:00 in the evening. Staff made space for us though. Service was prompt and food was great. Prices were reasonable. Decor of the place is pretty basic but not objectionable. Parking is readily available across the street, including handicapped parking. I am from out of town but would come here often if I lived in the area.

Great food, Staff friendly and professional. Upscale Restaurant but bar is casual and serves same food. Has good soup and salad bar. Good wine selection. Menu includes steak, seafood, chicken ,cheeseburgers, to quesadillas. Grilled and fried foods..

I occasionally travel to South Boston for work. This is undoubtedly one of the best places to eat in town. Never had a bad meal here. Very friendly and accommodating wait staff as well!

Great prime rib and sauteed mushrooms!

Had a great late dinner of calamari and steamed mussels. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m. and I was 15 minutes to call the food came out Pleasant and timely as ever. Two beers later in a good atmosphere on the bar side I finished my meal and was amused by a game of throwing darts. Great food and fellowship. Thanks to the bartender Hunter!

Went on the day of prom and it seemed to me that the portions we're smaller, but the same price. The service was outstanding, however, because all of the employees worked well together. Otherwise, the rating would have been 1.

We arrived for dinner at 8:30 and seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive. Once we received our dinner at about 9:10 pm many of the other patrons were leaving. By 9:15 every worker in the restaurant came out to the dining room to start breaking down all the other tables to prepare for tomorrow. Constantly walking pass us with large pans and other items. With temperatures outside of 37 degrees they constantly left the outside door open freezing us. We constantly complained with very little acknowledgement. I finally spoke to the “manager “ who didn’t seem very interested in our concerns. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN!! NO GOOD MANAGER WOULD ALLOW EMPLOYEES TO DISRUPT A PATRON’S DINING EXPERIENCE THE WAY WE WERE DISRESPECTED TONIGHT. TWO WORDS - RUDE & CLASSLESS!!!

It was a nice dinner and good service.

I recently visited Four Oaks Restaurant for the special they had for New Year's Eve. While the staff was friendly and food was delicious, I feel that the quality of my dining experience was overall mediocre. The restaurant tried to present itself as a fine dining restaurant, but the atmosphere felt insufficient and there was no music playing. I would come here again, but not for a special occasion.

Kool place

We stopped at this restaurant in South Boston, Va on a motorcycle trip. Lady at Fairfield Inn recommended it. We were not disappointed. Outstanding salad and soup. Ribeye steak was fantastic. While it looks like a very upscale restaurant when you walk in with nice table cloths, low lighting we were greeted very nicely in our riding jeans and tee shirts. The service and food was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant if your in the area. We visited on July 5th. Chris Jolly

Went over new year's eve for dinner. Had reservations for 5:00 PM. Was seated beverages served got a salad was then told buffet was being served with prime rib -- vegs was good and hot got piece of prime rib walked to table first bite was cold not warm but cold wife's was too $62.00 for cold - main buffet item there will be no more 4 oakes for me. $62.00 + $10.00 tip veggies not worth $72.00 to me!!

Fancy dining experience. They really know how to cook with flavor. I used to live in South Boston, Virginia and I helped them out one Christmas season with some catering. All I can remember is how pretty the food looked! Some of my friends actually used to cook there as a first job and they feel in love with cooking after that, I don't know how they do it!

Very nice menu. Service just right and the food was an all around 4 stars everything was well portioned and cooked to your taste.
